Why are my campaigns not winning any auctions?

Troubleshooting Auction Performance

If you're experiencing issues where a campaign or vendor isn't winning any auctions in a particular slot or category, or if one vendor or campaign seems to be dominating all auctions in a certain area, here's what to do:

  1. Check Campaign Targeting and Objectives: Ensure that the campaign has the correct targeting and objectives set. Verify that the categories listed in the campaign view are accurate and specific enough to match the intended audience and products.
  2. Verify Category Page Display: Make sure that the category pages where the campaign products are meant to appear are correctly displayed and navigable on your website. Confirm that the products of the vendor or campaign are shown properly, including images, prices, and product names.
  3. Review Auction Request Patterns: Check how many auction requests have been made specifically requesting winners with the products or categories associated with the campaign or vendor. Ensure that the number of organic visits to the vendor or category pages aligns with the number of auction requests sent to Topsort.
  4. Compare Promoted and Organic Metrics: If you notice a significant disparity between promoted impressions, clicks, or purchases and organic metrics for the products of different campaigns or vendors, investigate further. Compare the promoted metrics to the organic metrics and assess whether they are proportional. If there's a discrepancy, contact the engineering team for further investigation.

By systematically reviewing these potential issues, you can troubleshoot why a campaign or vendor may not be winning auctions in a particular slot or category and take appropriate steps to address the issue

If you're unable to resolve the problem internally, don't hesitate to reach out to Topsort's engineering team for assistance.
